€-coin falls again in October
Thursday, October 31, 2019
- The €-coin indicator fell further from 0.16 in September to 0.13 in October, continuing the trend under way for the last year.
- The indicator was affected in particular by the weakness of manufacturing and the resulting pessimism of firms in the sector.
- The €-coin indicator developed by the Bank of Italy provides a summary index of the current economic situation in the euro area. The indicator is an estimate of quarterly GDP growth shorn of the most erratic components (seasonal variations, measurement errors and short-run volatility). €-coin is published monthly by the Bank of Italy and CEPR.
- Next €-coin release dates: Friday, 29 November and Friday, 20 December (provisional).
