CEPR Fellow Professor Kym Anderson recognised in Queen's birthday honours

Professor Anderson, an International Trade and Regional Economics Fellow from the University of Adelaide, was made a Companion of the Order of Australia. He was awarded for 'eminent service to higher education as a leading academic and researcher, particularly in the field of agricultural economics, to the study of international trade and poverty reduction in developing countries, and to the viticulture industry'.

Kym Anderson is George Gollin Professor of Economics and Foundation Executive Director of the Centre for International Economic Studies (CIES) at the University of Adelaide in Australia, where he has been affiliated since 1984 following six years at the Australian National University's Institute for Advanced Studies. In 2004-07 he was on extended leave at the World Bank's Development Economics Research Group in Washington DC as Lead Economist (Trade Policy). Before that he spent 1990-92 in the Research Division of the GATT (now WTO) Secretariat in Geneva.
