Matteo Maggiori has won the 2019 edition of the Carlo Alberto Medal
Matteo Maggiori, who is a CEPR Fellow in Financial Economics, is the 2019 recipient of the distinguished Carlo Alberto Medal.
Matteo is a long-standing contributor to the Centre for Economic Policy Research, whose research focuses on international economics, finance, and macroeconomics. Matteo is both a CEPR Fellow in Financial Economics (FE) and a Research Affiliate for the International Macroeconomics and Finance Programme (IMF). Matteo’s recent work has produced innovative and creative research on the interaction between financial frictions and exchange rate dynamics.
CEPR is pleased to congratulate Matteo on this highly prestigious award. Established in 2007 by the Collegio Carlo Alberto, the Carlo Alberto Medal rewards an Italian scholar under the age of 40 for outstanding contributions to Economics. The winner is selected by a committee of distinguished scholars on the base of nominations submitted by economists throughout the world.
Matteo Maggiori is an Associate Professor of Economics at Harvard University, Department of Economics. He is a Fellow and Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research, a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of International Economics. He received his PhD from the University of California at Berkeley. His research has received awards such as the Guggenheim Fellowship, NSF CAREER grant, the AQR Insight Award (twice), and was selected for the Review of Economic Studies May Meetings (European Tour).
