The NYC Media Zoom Seminar. The NYC Media Seminar was founded in 2013 with the goal of linking economists in the greater New York area with economic and other social science research relevant to media markets. The seminar is jointly organized by Lisa George at Hunter College and Miklos Sarvary at Columbia Business School and has been generously supported by the Columbia Media Program. Past schedules are available here and here. The NYC Media Seminar is now on Zoom, and we are pleased to open the series to researchers outside of the New York region. On Tuesday, June 2, Andrey Simonov (Columbia) will present “The Persuasive Effect of Fox News: Non-Compliance with Social Distancing During the Covid-19 Pandemic.” The seminar runs 10:30-12:00 in NYC (16:30-18:00 Central Europe).
