The recovery of €-coin is confirmed in November
Wednesday, November 30, 2016
- In November €-coin increased for the sixth consecutive month, rising to 0.45 from 0.38 in October, the highest level since March.
- The indicator benefited mainly from the improvement in household and business confidence. The persisting weakness of global demand and inflation continues to be the main brake on economic activity.
- The €-coin indicator developed by the Bank of Italy provides a summary index of the current economic situation in the euro area. The indicator is an estimate of quarterly GDP growth shorn of the most erratic components (seasonal variations, measurement errors and short-run volatility). €-coin is published monthly by the Bank of Italy and CEPR.
- Next €-coin release dates: Friday 30 December and Friday 27 January (preliminary).
