Banque de France, Banca d’Italia and Sciences Po, in cooperation with the CEPR, are organizing their fifth joint research conference on trends in firm financing, firm organization and firm dynamics, to be held in Paris on 1-2 December 2022.

The conference aims to create a forum for discussion on issues related to the recent patterns of firms’ activity, the organization of production and firm’s financing, as well as their determinants, consequences and implications for policymaking. This year’s conference particularly welcomes contributions investigating how firms adjust their strategies to policies fostering the ecological and energy transition, adapt to increasing climate change risks and accommodate consumers’ rising expectations in terms of corporate social and environmental responsibility.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• Firms’ strategic adaptation to climate change risks and policies
• Trade and the future of global supply chains in a world aiming at phasing out fossil energy
• Digitalization, organization and green innovation in the private sector and the public administration
• Financing corporate investment for the transition: will green finance meet the needs?
• The rise of corporate responsibility: responsible investing, ESG regulations and their impact
• Evaluating the EU Green Deal and its consequences for domestic and multinational corporations.

Depending on sanitary constraints in the Fall of 2022, the conference may be held entirely online. In case of an in-person event, submitters located overseas will be offered the possibility to present online in order to limit the carbon emissions associated with the conference. Submitters located in Europe are kindly asked to come to Paris and preferably travel by train when possible.

Paper submission: Interested authors should submit a detailed extended abstract or, preferably, a complete paper in PDF format at by September 2nd, 2022. Decisions of acceptance by the program committee will be announced by end-September.
