This talk will present some preliminary thoughts on how agents might affect marketplaces, focusing on price discovery, preference elicitation, competition, bargaining and market design. It will then discuss a new paper using some of these agentic approaches to simulate job matching in a labor market setting. The talk will conclude with some thoughts on tooling and infrastructure to accelerate research in this area.
