The workshop, now at its 5th edition, seeks to promote the exchange and dissemination of new research in the field of development economics and its intersections with industrial organization, international trade, labour economics, and migration.

This year’s workshop will be held on 20-21 June 2025 at the University of Bari, Italy, and is planned as an in-person event.

The workshop calls for papers covering, but not limited to:

  • Firm and sectoral productivity
  • Access to foreign markets
  • Firms in hostile environments
  • Growth and structural transformation
  • Technology adoption, learning, and diffusion
  • Labour market frictions
  • International migration and forced displacement

Keynote speaker:

  • Mushfiq Mobarak, Jerome Kasoff '54 Professor of Management and Economics, Yale University and CEPR

A limited budget is available upon request to cover accommodation expenses for up to two nights.

The deadline to submit is February 28th, 2025. Authors of selected papers will be informed by mid-March. Please submit completed papers and/or extended abstracts, with a preference for the former, at the following link: please click here.
