The Nottingham Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy(GEP), together with the Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy (CITP) and the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), invites Postgraduate Research Students (PhDs), Postdoctoral Researchers and professional economists to participate in its upcoming International Trade Summer School. The programme offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of International Trade through lecturers delivered by world-renowned experts, take part in networking activities and present your research. The Summer School comprises three days of lectures, followed by a full day devoted to research presentations and networking activities. Participants in the Summer School will also be invited to attend the GEP/CEPR Summer International Trade Workshop where leading researchers will present cutting-edge work.

Course Overview
Day 1 (course work)
(Morning) Introduction to the neoclassical model and the gains from trade
(Afternoon) Ricardian comparative advantage and the Eaton-Kortum model
Day 2 (course work)
Optimal policy in an open economy, focusing on how trade policy can address distortions and distributive goals
Day 3 (course work)
New trade models (Krugman and Melitz) and their implications on the conclusions of traditional trade theory
Day 4 (networking day)
Research presentations by interested Summer School participants
Social activity with lecturers and organisers + Summer School Dinner
Days 5 and 6 Participants are invited to attend the GEP/CEPR Summer International Trade Workshop
