Submissions

Jointly organized with the Centre for Economic Policy Research, the PSE Policy Forum will be devoted to the discussion of emerging issues among leading researchers and policymakers, reaching a large audience that includes government officials and legislators, the media and other universities.

This call for papers seeks submissions from young researchers to present their papers in an augmented poster format during one of the days of the forum, with each day focusing on different themes:

PROGRAMME

June 26
DEVELOPMENT IN THE 21st CENTURY
Keynote: Esther Duflo

June 27
INEQUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

Keynote: Thomas Piketty

June 28
INFLATION: BACK TO THE SEVENTIES?

Keynote: Olivier Blanchard

June 29
NATION BUIDING: BIG LESSONS FROM SUCCESSES AND FAILURES

Keynote: Katya Zhuravskaya

June 30
IS GREEN GROWTH POSSIBLE?

Keynote: Philippe Aghion

Each day will include keynote presentations, a select programme of academic presentations, policy panels and poster presentations by young scholars.

The goal of the poster sessions is to provide a forum for young European researchers to get exposure for and receive feedback on their work.

Augmented poster session details:

Researchers accepted to present their poster will give very short (<10 min) presentations of their work in a pre-lunch session during the conference and participate in poster sessions during the extended lunch periods immediately following their presentations. All Forum attendees will be encouraged to engage with the poster-session presenters, and poster session presenters are encouraged to attend the full five-day event.

Eligibility:

Given its goals, only young researchers pursuing or having recently (within four years) received a PhD from a European economics program are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to those students expecting to go on the academic job market in 2023-24, with additional (though lesser) preference given to other applicants according to their time since PhD completion.

If you are or know of a pre- or post-doctoral researcher that may want to attend the forum, please pass this call on to them. To attend, the individual must have a completed paper that they can present and an (electronic) poster to display in the poster session.

Submissions and Deadlines:

The deadline for submissions is Friday 21 April 2023 at 18:00 (GMT) and they must include a research paper, a CV, and (for pre-doctoral researchers only) a short letter of support from their main advisor (max 1 page). Letters of support can optionally be sent separately to [email protected]. Applicants will be notified about whether their paper has been accepted as soon as possible in May 2023.
