Hosted by the Institute of International Economic Cooperate, College of Business, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), the Rising Asia RPN organised a conference on 

Reform of the International Economic Order: Uncertainty and Economic Policy Coordindation on 21 November 2021.

This was a hybrid event with participants in China attending physically and the rest of the world participating virtually.

The conference brought together researchers working on the implications of uncertainty and economic policy coordination, notably related to the Chinese economy. 

The conference focused on the following topics, though not restricted to: 

  • Regional trade agreements and new rules of the international economy.
  • Global value chains, intra-product specialization and regional production networks.
  • Trade protectionism and global economic governance.
  • U.S.-China relations and prospects.
  • Normalization of the Covid-19 epidemic and new global economic and financial pattern.
  • Financial liberalization and macroeconomic policy coordination. 
  • Digital currency and reform of the international monetary system.
  • Fintech, cryptocurrency and financial structural transformation.
  • Global climate changes and global governance system
