2. Accommodation

For those participants requiring accommodation during their stay in Barcelona, rooms have been reserved at the following hotel:

ILUNION Barcelon
Ramón Turro 196-198 esq. Llacuna
08005, Barcelona

A room is €145 Double (single use) // €155 Double room, per night, excluding taxes.

Please, note that this is a reduced rate, negotiated by UPF, and that you may be quoted a different price if you contact the hotel directly.

For participants whose accommodation costs are covered by the organizers, please be reminded that incidental expenses such as the mini-bar, laundry, telephone, or any other service offered by the hotel are not covered and should be settled with the hotel directly.

3. Directions

From the airport to the hotel
Taxi: Participants can take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Taxi’s should take roughly 20‐25 minutes and cost €30-35 approx.

Aerobus: Alternatively, you can take the Aerobus to the city centre (Plaça Catalunya/Catalunya Square), which is the express bus service that runs every 5‐10 minutes, from 6.10 am to 1.05 am (5.30 am to 12.30 am from city centre to airport). You will need to take the A1 Aerobus if you are arriving at Terminal 1, and the A2 Aerobus if arriving at Terminal 2, and both take approximately 30 minutes. A single ticket from both terminals is € 5.90 for a single and € 10.20 for a return journey (the ticket is valid for 15 days).

Ride the Aerobus until the City Centre Stop (Barcelona Plaça Catalunya). Once here, you will then need to take the L4 Metro Route from Urquinaona station. You can get to Urquinaona by walking the short distance from Plaça Catalunya (down R. Sant Pere), and then take the L4 route for 3/ 4 stops and get off at Llacuna/ Poblenou. From here follow the map below and walk approximately 5/10 minutes to get to the hotel (see map at end of document).

Train: If you are arriving at Terminal 2, you can take the train to the city. Unfortunately, this isn’t available from Terminal 1.

From the hotel to the conference
The conference and hotel are approximately a twenty-thirty minute walk apart (see map at the end of the document). Alternatively, you could take the yellow line at Llacuna/ Poblenou and get off at Ciutadella/Villa Olimpica.

4. Meals

Breakfast should be taken at the hotel.

Lunch and refreshments during the day will be provided at the conference venue during the breaks in the programme.

A dinner has been organised on Friday 2 October at the following restaurant:

This is in very central Passeig de Gracia 78. The entrance is not completely obvious, as the restaurant is a bit "hidden". One has to enter a very large entrance overlooking P de Gracia and then go upstairs. This can be reached easily using the same Yellow line (L4) that also connects Ciutadella (where UPF is) and Poblenou/Llacuna (where the hotel is). So it can be reached easily from/to both UPF and hotel.

Any dietary requirements can be accommodated if indicated in advance.
