Economic Policy: The Options for Spain

A joint conference with the Consejo Superior de Cámaras Oficiales de Comercio, Industria y Navegación de España, on `Economic Policy: The Options for Spain' took place at Santander during 26/30 July. The conference was organized by Guillermo de la Dehesa, CEPR Vice-Chairman and Conseyo Delegado at the Banco Pastor, and Richard Portes, CEPR Director and Professor of Economics at Birkbeck College, London. It was hosted by the Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo. The following topics were discussed, with presentations by CEPR Research Fellows:

`Monetary Policy', Marcus Miller (University of Warwick and CEPR) and Patrick Minford (University of Liverpool and CEPR)

`Fiscal Policies', Paul De Grauwe (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and CEPR) and Jürgen von Hagen (Universität Mannheim and CEPR)

`Industrial Policy', David Audretsch (Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung and CEPR) and Yannis Katsoulacos (Athens University of Economics and Business and CEPR)

`Labour Market Policies', Brendan Walsh (University College Dublin) and Dennis Snower (Birkbeck College, London, and CEPR)
