Comparison of the Financial System and Regulation
CEPR's fifth joint conference with the National Bureau of Economic
Research and the Tokyo Center of Economic Research, on `International
Comparison of the Financial System and Regulations', took place in Tokyo
on 11/12 January. The conference was organized by Takatoshi Ito (Hitotsubashi
University, NBER and TCER) and Kazuo Ueda (University of Tokyo).
Financial support and hospitality were provided by TCER. The following
papers were presented:

(Boston College and NBER)
`The Stability of the Japanese Banking System: A Historical
Perspective', Shiro Yabushita (Waseda University and TCER) and Atsushi
Inoue (Tokyo University)
These papers will appear in a Special Conference Issue of the Journal of
the Japanese and International Economies in December 1993.
