Ekaterina Zhuravskaya has taken on one of the most complicated topics of our time: fake news. Zhuravskaya and her coauthors wanted to explore why the act of fact-checking didn’t seem to have much effect on the dissemination of political falsehoods.
“Political economics has never been more timely than now,” she says. “The political landscape in many democracies is changing very quickly and we need to understand why.”
