Julia Schmidt

Researcher and Analyst at Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD)

Julia Schmidt is a Researcher and Analyst in OECD’s Statistics and Data Directorate (SDD). As part of SDD’s Trade and Productivity Division, she works on the measurement of the digital economy, as well as the development of nowcasting methodologies using machine learning. Julia is also co-leading the R/Python/Github Community of Practice at the OECD, a vibrant community promoting knowledge sharing and best practices around novel data methodology and coding practices. Julia holds a master's degree in International Economic Policy from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) Paris, France and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Economics from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich, Germany.
