Karin S. Thorburn is Research Chair Professor of Finance at NHH Norwegian School of Economics and Adjunct Full Professor of Finance at Wharton, University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on M&A, bankruptcy, and raising capital.
Dr. Thorburn is an SFS Council member, an FMA Director, a CEPR Research Associate, and an ECGI Research Affiliate. She is also a Director of Argentum Asset Management, Maritime & Merchant Bank, Preferred Global Health and Green LNG Services, and an ad-hoc advisor to the Norwegian Ministry of Finance on the investment strategy of the Norwegian oil fund. Thorburn holds a Ph.D. in finance from the Stockholm School of Economics.
