Michael Ryan

Michael Ryan is Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Economics, Western Michigan University. His research expertise resides in the area of foreign direct investment, international trade, and multinational enterprises, with particular attention paid to the investment activities of Japanese firms. He has published on topics such as how parent firm productivity, financial shocks, and host country characteristics affect the foreign affiliate location choice and ownership organizational structure. Michael earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University in 2001.
