Nils Gottfries has published research in leading economics journals such as JPE, QJE, EJ etc. He was editor of the Scandinavian Journal of Economics and member of the Calmfors commission that evaluated Swedish membership in the EMU. His research area is macro and labor economics with a focus on the supply side: unemployment, wage contracts, wage and price setting, customer markets, modelling firm dynamics using micro data. He is the author of the intermediate textbook Macroeconomics published by Palgrave-Macmillan.
