Philipp Harms

Professor of International Economics at Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz

Philipp Harms is professor of international economics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Germany). He received his doctorate from the University of St. Gallen, held positions at the University of Konstanz and at RWTH Aachen University, and also teaches at the Study Center Gerzensee. His main research areas are international economics, macroeconomics, and political economy. Recent research focuses on the identification and the effects of exchange rate regimes, the determinants of attitudes towards nationalism, globalization and democratic procedures, as well as the structure of global supply chains. He has also published a masters-level textbook on international macroeconomics.
