Vasiliki Skreta is the Leroy G. Denman Regents Professor of Economics at University of Texas at Austin. Prior to UT and UCL, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, at the University of California, in Los Angeles and at NYU, Stern School of Business. Professor Skreta's main research contributions are on mechanism design with limited commitment: This area presents special difficulties as the celebrated revelation principle is inapplicable. She has also published in other aspects of mechanism design. More recently, she has been working on the optimal design of industries that produce information, such as the credit rating agencies and other certification intermediaries. Her research has been supported by and ERC consolidation grant, the National Science Foundation and by other grants. Professor Skreta holds a BA in Economics from Athens University of Economics and Business, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.
