I am an Assistant Professor of Agri-food Trade and Policy at the Department of Food, Agricultural, and Resource Economics, University of Guelph, Canada, and a Research Associate at the Environment for Development (EfD) Initiative. I bring a global perspective to my research and teaching, having worked and studied in different countries. Following my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, I moved to The Netherlands for my master’s degree in Development Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and then to Denmark for my Ph.D. in Economics and Business from Aarhus University. I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Tuborg Research Centre for Globalization and Firms of Aarhus University, Denmark, and a recipient of the prestigious Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Robert Schumann Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute, Florence, Italy I am a member of the editorial boards of the Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics and the African Journal of Economic and Management Studies. My research has been published in reputable journals such as Energy Policy, World Development, European Journal of Political Economy, African Development Review, Canadian Journal of Agricultural Economics and others. Apart from his academic work, I consult on occasion for international organizations such as the African Development Bank and International Trade Centre. I am keen to continue my research and teaching in the areas of international trade, political economy, international development, energy and environment, meta-analysis and applied econometrics, food, and agriculture.
