Dr. Yan WANG is Program Leader of the Investment Climate team at WBIFP, The World Bank. She has extensive experience in managing research related to economic reforms, trade and investment, and the quality of growth. She has extensive publications and her recent research has concentrated on China's Integration with the World: Development as a process of learning and industrial upgrading (Joint paper with Justin Lin). Her other publication include: The Quality of Growth: Fiscal Policy for Better Results; Measuring Downside Risk and Severity for Global Output (in Journal of Forecasting) Banking Sector Openness and Economic Growth, Foreign Bank Entry and Domestic Bank Performance: Evidence using Bank-level Data; Sources of China's Economic Growth 1952-2005, and The Quality of Growth (2000).She has received several awards including the SUN Yefang Award in Economics (the highest award in economics in China). Before joining WBI, she was an Economist in the East Asia Region of the World Bank. She holds a Ph.D. from Cornell University, and taught Economics as an Assistant Professor before joining the World Bank.
