Congratulations to CEPR Researcher Ana Fostel on receiving the 2023 Stephen A. Ross Prize, which recognises significant contributions to research in financial economics.

The Foundation for Advancement of Research in Financial Economics (FARFE) awarded its eighth Ross Prize to the research paper 'Leverage Cycles and the Anxious Economy' (co-authored with John Geanakoplos), for developing an innovative analysis of financial booms and busts based on changes in leverage. 

Ana Fostel is a Research Fellow for CEPR's International Macroeconomics and Finance programme. Ana is a Professor of Economics at University of Virginia. She is also a Research Fellow at the NBER and a Member of the Academia Nacional de Economia in Uruguay. Her research concentrates on the intersection of Financial Economics, International Finance, Economic Theory and Experimental Finance.
