Alexey Makarin

Assistant Professor of Applied Economics at MIT Sloan School of Management

Alexey Makarin is an Assistant Professor at MIT Sloan School of Management. He is also a Research Fellow at CEPR Political Economy, a member of CEPR RPN Geoeconomics, and is on leave at the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF). His research interests include political economy, development economics, and media economics. He has published in American Economic Review, Econometrica, American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, and World Development. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Economics from Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia.
