Andrei Markevich is a full professor at the New Economic School in Moscow, Russia. His research is on Russian and Eastern European economic history. He has published articles in the American Economic Review, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Economic History, European Review of Economic History and other professional outlets. He was awarded the Russian National Prize for Applied Economics in 2012.
