Ben Vollaard (Ph.D. RAND Graduate School) is associate professor at the Economics Department of Tilburg University. Currently, he is Academic Director of the MSc program in Economics. Past positions include graduate fellow at the RAND Corporation, reporter at NRC Handelsblad and economist at the Dutch equivalent of the Council of Economic Advisors (CPB). His research focuses on environmental fraud. He develops and tests research designs that are designed to uncover traces of hidden, illegal behavior, in a variety of contexts. The goal is to provide causal, rather than merely suggestive, evidence of wrongdoing.
