Bo Li

Assistant Professor, PBC School of Finance at Tsinghua University

Bo Li is currently an Assistant Professor at PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. Bo received her Ph.D. in Economics from Queen’s University in 2013. She also held M.A. degree in Economics from University of British Columbia in 2006 and undergraduate degree (with highest distinction) in Economics from University of Western Ontario in 2005. She worked as an intern at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. on reverse mergers in Washington, D.C. in 2007; and at the Embassy of Canada on multilateral trade policies in Washington, D.C. in 2008. Her duty at the Embassy of Canada involved attending hearings on Capitol Hill and analyzing issues related to financial crisis. Her research interests include empirical corporate finance, with a focus on financial distress, creditor control rights, and government policy in China. Her recent work examines the effectiveness of the Chinese anti-corruption campaign on credit reallocation from SOEs to non-SOEs. She currently study the bankruptcy reform in China. She had received several academic awards during both graduate and undergraduate studies, including Queen’s Graduate Scholarship; University of Western Ontario Gold Medalist (highest distinction), Dean’s Honor List, and Dr. Mark K. Inman Scholarship.
