Christian Dippel is an Assistant Professor of Economics at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Dippel’s research interests include political economy, economic history, and international economics. His economic research fields are the formation, persistence and effects of organized special interests and social divisions in society, their impact on policy choices and economic growth and the effect that international integration has on these equilibrium relations. Substantive research fields cover an eclectic mix of indigenous economic development, public sector pensions, 19th and 20th century U.S. economic history and institutions, and the legacies of colonialism.
