Christine Gartner

Principal Economist, DG Economics at European Central Bank

Christine Gartner earned her Master’s degree in Economics at the University of Vienna in 1988 and post graduate diploma at the Institute of Advanced Studies (Vienna) in 1990. Since then she has worked as an economist in several DGs of Oesterreichische Nationalbank and the European Central Bank. From 2000 to 2010, she served as the Secretary to the Monetary Policy Committee of the Eurosystem and ESCB. She currently works as Principal Economist in the Convergence and Competitiveness Division in DG Economics at the European Central Bank. Her research topics are: monetary and financial policy, and economic convergence in the EU.
