Damian Raess is Assistant Professor in Global Political Economy at the University of Bern and the University of Reading. He holds a MA in International Relations and PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Amsterdam. He has been a lecturer in political science at the University of Geneva, a visiting scholar at MIT and Harvard University, and a visiting lecturer at KU Leuven, the University of Amsterdam and the Graduate Institute in Geneva. He is currently doing research on the causes and consequences of labor provisions in trade agreements (based on the brand-new LABPTA dataset), and on the impact of the rise of the BRICS economies on labor protections around the world.
