Dirk Bezemer

Dirk Bezemer holds two M.Sc. degrees from Wageningen University (1995) and a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam (2001). He worked on a post-doc grant from the European Commission on the economics of transition at Imperial College, University of London, UK (2001-2003). Subsequently he worked in advisory and research positions with the Overseas Development Institute and the UK Department for International Development, both in London. Since 2004 he teaches at the Department of International Economics and Business at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. His published work is on the economics of transition and development and on real-financial sector interactions. Dirk Bezemer has been providing policy advice working with the British government, the OECD, World Bank, European Union, and UNDP.
