Edwin A. Goñi Pacchioni is a Lead Economist in the Competitiveness and Innovation Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He has worked for about fifteen years doing economic research and project evaluation as Lead Economist in the Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness at the IDB, Senior Economist for the Andean Region at the IDB, consultant to the World Bank Development Research Group, consultant to the World Bank's Office of the Chief Economist for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Economist in the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Pension Fund Administrators of Peru. He has been adjunct assistant professor at Graduate Economics Departments in US and Peru. He holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute. His academic research and publications focus on labor markets, productivity and economic development.
