Gurpal Sran

Gurpal S. Sran is in the Business PhD program (Accounting dissertation area) at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics and biomathematics from Rutgers University in 2015. While attending Rutgers, he worked as a research assistant in the economics department and an investment banking summer analyst in public finance at Barclays. Prior to joining Chicago Booth, Gurpal was a Research Fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. As a Fellow, he contributed to research projects in accounting, finance, and political economics. He is a recipient of the Ernie Wish Fellowship at Chicago Booth. His current research interests include financial institution risk-taking, information disclosure incentives, and the real effects of standard setting and regulation.
