Ignacio Munyo is Professor and Director of the Center of Economics at IEEM Business School, University of Montevideo. He has several scientific publications in leading scientific journals such as The Review of Economic Dynamics, The Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization and The Scandinavian Journal of Economics. He received the Raul Trajtenberg National Prize in Economics 2014, the most prestigious award in the field of economics of Uruguay.
He is Businesss Consultant of Grant Thornton. He is also Board Member of the Montevideo Stock Exchange, Member of the Academia Nacional de Economía, Member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, and Treasurer of the Sociedad de Economistas del Uruguay. He was Senior Economist of CERES (Uruguay), Nonresident Fellow at Brookings Institution, Consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank, and Research Assistant at the University of Chicago.
He received his PhD in Economics from Universidad de San Andrés in 2012 and Master in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2008.
