Assistant Professor, School of Social Work at University of Wisconsin – Madison

Jessica Pac is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Social Work. She received her PhD in Social Work/Social Policy with a concentration in Economics at the Columbia University School of Social Work. The core mission of her research is to provide robust, feasible evidence to prevent child maltreatment and early health disparities, and to understand the consequences thereof. Jessica’s dissertation provides quasi-experimental evidence on new policy solutions for early maltreatment prevention, including studies on Medicaid, Early Childhood Education and Care Programs, and heat and temperature. Her current program of research examines opportunities for leveling the playing field by improving the health and well-being of infants and children with a focus on mandatory reporting among pediatricians and medical personnel, work-family policies such as Paid Family Leave and Universal Pre-Kindergarten, and safety net programs as they impact poverty and inequality.
