Jo Van Biesebroeck is Professor of Economics at the K.U.Leuven (Belgium) and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Boston. He obtained his Ph.D. in economics at Stanford University and specializes in the areas of industrial organisation and international trade.
Recent research of his investigates technology adoption, the interaction between innovation and market structure, and global value chains in the automotive industry. Other work focuses on outsourcing and FDI to low-wage countries and the evaluation of trade policies. He advises Industry Canada and International Trade Canada on policy issues
