Karen Kopecky

Research Economist and Associate Adviser at Federal Reserve Bank Of Atlanta

Karen Kopecky is a research economist and associate adviser at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She is a visiting scholar of the economics department at Emory University. Her major field of study is macroeconomics with particular interests in public finance, insurance markets, retirement, health, and computational methods for macroeconomic modeling. Her recent work has focused on public and private provision of old-age long-term care insurance, and the measurement and impact of cross-sectional health inequality. She received her doctorate in economics in 2007 and her master's degree in economics in 2003, both from the University of Rochester. Prior to joining the Bank in 2010, she spent four years as an assistant professor of economics at Western University in Ontario, Canada.
