Senior Lead Economist at European Central Bank

Magdalena Grothe is Senior Lead Economist at the European Central Bank. She is involved in the assessment of global financial stability risks and developments in global financial markets. In previous roles, she worked on financial market modelling and the assessment of euro area inflation expectations within the European Central Bank, as well as on the assessment of risks to EU financial stability within the European Systemic Risk Board. Magdalena has published several articles in academic journals as well as contributed to ECB and ESRB reports. She holds a PhD degree from University of Cologne and Master's degrees from University of Cologne and University of Lodz.
