Matteo Gomellini is Senior Economist in the Directorate General for Economics, Statistics and Research at the Bank of Italy, where he is currently Deputy Head of the Economic History Division. His research interests focus on Italian economic history, mainly on growth, migration, international trade, demography. He holds a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Rome La Sapienza.
