Mrinal is an Assistant Professor (Senior Lecturer) in the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Melbourne. He obtained his PhD from the University of Zürich and Swiss Finance Institute apart from spending some time as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Zürich primarily funded by a grant from data.org. His research interests are at the intersection of financial intermediation, development finance and financial technologies. Additionally, he also works on the applications of unstructured data in banking using machine learning and natural language processing.
