Nicolas Depetris Chauvin

Nicolas Depetris Chauvin is Assistant Professor of Public Policy at Dubai School of Government and a Research Fellow at the Oxford Centre for the Analysis of Resource Rich Economies in the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford. Previously, he worked as a Policy Specialist in the Office of Development Studies at the United Nations Development Programme and as a Consultant at the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the Ministry of Economics of Argentina, among others. His current research focuses on understanding some of the economics challenges of the development world, with a particular emphasis on resource rich economies. During his doctorate studies at Princeton University, he did research on the debt relief initiatives for the highly indebted poor countries. Before Princeton, Dr. Depetris Chauvin did his undergraduate studies in Economics at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he also obtained a master's degree in Economics from Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Dr. Depetris Chauvin has published articles in journals such as the Journal of the European Economic Association, as well as policy papers for the United Nations Development Programme and the Inter-American Development Bank. He has taught courses on macroeconomics, international finance and trade, statistics and econometrics, and public policy in the United States, France, and Argentina.
