Pedro Gomes is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Mathematics and Statistics at Birkbeck, University of London. He received his PhD. in Economics at the London School of Economics in 2010, and was an assistant professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is interested in a wide range of macroeconomic issues. His main line of research is on fiscal policy, in particular on the effects of public sector employment and wages, and the effects of working time reduction. He has also worked on macroeconomics of labour markets and on the determinants and the effects of sovereign credit ratings.
