Peter L Rousseau is Professor of Economics and Professor of History at Vanderbilt University and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He received his doctorate from New York University. He serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Economic History and Explorations in Economic History, and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Productivity Analysis. His primary interests lie in macroeconomic, monetary and financial history, with focus on the role of financial markets and institutions in growth and development. His work also considers how the spread of transformative technological changes is reflected through equity markets.
