Petia Topalova is Advisor at the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund. Prior to that, she worked in the European, and Asia and Pacific Department of the IMF, and was an Adjunct Lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005. Her research is in the areas of economic development and international trade.
