Pia Andres is a Research Economist at the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the London School of Economics, where she works on projects related to Productive and Inclusive Net Zero (PRINZ) and the Programme on Innovation and Diffusion (POID). She also teaches climate economics and policy at Lincoln College Oxford. Before joining the CEP in September 2023, Pia was a Researcher at the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Work, where she contributed to research studying the regulation and labour market implications of digital technologies. Her research interests broadly lie in the areas of technological change and the economic geography of trade and innovation, with a particular focus on the just transition to a low carbon and increasingly digital economy. Pia has held visiting positions at Columbia University, where she was a Fulbright Scholar in 2021, as well as the University of Oslo and the Harvard Kennedy School. Aside from her academic work, she has contributed to multiple policy reports analysing the United Kingdom’s economic opportunities in a future green economy and developed the Green Transition Navigator, an interactive web tool visualising measures of green competitiveness as well as lock-in to declining, high-carbon sectors globally. She holds a PhD in Environmental Economics from LSE.
