Pierpaolo Grippa

Senior Economist at International Monetary Fund

Pierpaolo Grippa is a Senior Economist in the Financial Assessment and Policies Division of the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department. Since joining the Fund, in 2013, he has published three working papers (on concentration risk, climate risk analysis, and implications of the energy transition for financial sector policies), participated in eight FSAPs in different roles (banking expert, Basel Core Principles’ assessor, solvency/liquidity stress tester, scenario-based climate risk assessor) in advanced economies and emerging markets, led or conducted eight technical assistance missions, and contributed to policy analysis for the financial sector. Prior to joining the IMF, he worked at the Banca d’Italia in banking supervision and, as a head of unit, on policy and regulation. Pierpaolo holds a Ph.D. in Economic Analysis from the University of Rome – “La Sapienza” and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Essex.
