Raman Uppal

Professor of Finance at EDHEC Business School

Raman Uppal is a Professor in the Finance Department of Edhec Business School. He holds a bachelors degree in Economics (Honors) from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, and M.A., M.B.A and Ph.D. degrees from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to working at Edhec Business School, he worked at London Business School and the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia. He has held visiting positions at Catholic University (Leuven), the MIT Sloan School of Management, and the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also served as Co-Director of the Financial Economics Programme of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). His current research interests are in the areas of behavioral and household finance; in particular, he wishes to design appropriate policies to ameliorate the effect of behavioral biases on the financial decisions of households.
