Richard Mansfield

Richard Mansfield is a labor economist in the Department of Economics at the University of Colorado - Boulder. He earned his PhD in economics from Yale University.​ His research focuses on the implications for earnings and educational attainment distributions of the way in which individuals are sorted to groups across a variety of contexts (students to classrooms, teachers to schools, workers to firms). Methodologically, he specializes in using linked administrative data to examine the interplay between production functions and models of sorting in contexts where the productive inputs consist of heterogeneous individuals (e.g. different students, teachers, or workers).
