Robert Stehrer

Robert Stehrer is Scientific Director at The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw). He studied economics at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria, and Sociology at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) in Vienna and is Lecturer of Economics at the University of Vienna. His fields of research are international economic integration, the effects of technical change and trade on employment and wages, growth and structural change, economic dynamics and applied econometrics. He was leading numerous national and international projects, particularly for the European Commission, concerning issues of competitiveness, trade, and employment. He was further active in major EU framework projects, notably in EU KLEMS (FP6), Micro-Dyn (FP6) and WIOD (FP7) and is Consultant for various organisations including the European Central Bank (ECB) and the OECD. He has been in the editorial board of Structural Change and Economic Dynamics. Amongst numerous publications in various journals he recently was co-editor of two books, Industrial Productivity in Europe - Growth and Crisis and The Internationalization of Business R&D.
